Childhood

Do you remember wishing you'd grow up really fast when you were a child? Do you remember wishing you could be older so you could sleep late and watch late night shows...go out without a chaperone and have fun with your friends?

And then the adults would tell us "enjoy your childhood, it's the best time of your life" and you're thinking, 'but you're staying up late and we have to go to bed, what's great about that?' and you wish 'oh please make me grow up really quickly'.

Now you're all grown up with a family of your own and a job you worked hard to get. You have your own home and you can stay up as long as you like and no one can tell you to go to bed. You can eat what you want and do what you want to do...

but you find yourself missing the simple joys of childhood... Of having no responsibilities... Of always having enough sleep and food in your tummy. Of being able to play and have plenty of imagination...and oh the dreams that could still come true.

They've told us a million times, but we never listened...

These were the best times of our lives.
